Nisreen is a project manager for REGEN1. She is committed to inclusive participatory action-based approaches to problem-solving that empower farmers to leaders in building sustainable and equitable food systems. After graduating from Wellesley College in 2018, Nisreen embarked on a year-long international independent study–under the Thomas Watson Fellowship–to explore how small farmers and ranchers resourcefully navigate their environments and develop innovative agroecological techniques. Prior to joining The Lexicon team, she worked as a researcher in a microbiology lab at Wellesley to further her honors thesis research on the transformation and efficacy of bokashi (an organic, traditional East Asian fertilizer made from agricultural waste).
