Sasha is a designer devoted to improving local and global food systems. She is currently a designer for the Lexicon of Sustainability and a user experience designer at LiteFarm.
After receiving her B.F.A in Communication Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Sasha worked at Blend developing advertising campaigns and brand identities. Looking to be involved in socially-driven work, she went back to school to receive her M.A. in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. During this time she was a fellow for the Greater Baltimore Medical Center as part of the Performance Improvement and Innovation team.
Sasha was part of a team that developed MyOak Market, an online platform intended to facilitate reciprocal connections between local food producers and people experiencing food insecurity. The market proposal was selected as a finalist for the Biomimicry Global Design Challenge and gave Sasha the opportunity to participate in the Biomimicry Launchpad, an entrepreneurial incubator. This work catapulted her interest in food systems.
Outside of design, you can find Sasha taking care of animals as either a wildlife rehabilitation volunteer, foster caretaker, or cat sitter.
